What is SAP HANA Administration?

In order to manage the SAP HANA system in a single and distributed environment, we use SAP HANA administration. In each SAP HANA system, there can be multiple nodes, and each node can contain multiple processors to provide speed data analysis and real-time data.
SAP HANA Admin is developed in C++. It runs on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.

SAP HANA Cockpit

SAP HANA cockpit acts as a single point of access to all the tools for detailed monitoring and administration of SAP HANA Databases. It can be accessed through a web browser. The SAP HANA cockpit provides Database administration features, like data backup, user management, Database monitoring etc.

 SAP HANA Studio:

SAP HANA Studio is an Eclipse-based tool. It is available for Mac, Windows and Unix Os.
To perform monitoring activities as well as system administration in a distributed environment, we use SAP HANA Studio. Using HANA Studio, you can create users with access privileges, data provisioning, backup and recovery.

SAP HANA Lifecycle Manager

This is the single tool for both installation and updates and post-installation configuration tasks. Using this tool, you can add or remove hosts.

SAP Solution Manager

This tool is used to integrate your SAP HANA platform with other business solutions. It provides other functionalities like integrated content; methodologies, tools etc. operate and monitor an enterprise’s SAP solution.

SAP HANA HDBSQL

HDBSQL is called Database interactive terminal but we can execute commands non-interactively also. It is a command line tool for executing commands on SAP HANA Databases. This is just a plain old terminal style without any Fiori or cloud. It is used to automate the backups of HANA Database.

SAP HANA HW Configuration Check

To check the interoperability of SAP HANA system with the existing enterprise storage, we use this tool. This tool checks and provides reports for new single host and checks the systems whether the hardware we meant to use meets the required performance criteria to run SAP HANA production use.

SAP HANA XS Administration Tools

This tool is used to configure and manage basic administration related elements of applications development process. For applications developed and hosted in SAP HANA environment, you can perform security and define user authentication also.

SAP HANA Application Lifecycle Management

This tool performs all the transport management tasks. It takes care of the transport of delivery units, upload or download transports. You can manage changes that are made to the coding and can take that content from development to production.
