Top 20 Dell Boomi Interview Question and Answers

Top 20 Dell Boomi Interview Questions and Answers

1. What is Dell Boomi?
Dell Boomi Atomsphere is a cloud-based integration platform where different on-premise applications, data, and cloud can be connected together. It is also specialized in API management and Master Data Management. This platform enables a cloud-based integration process called Atoms, which helps in the transfer of data between on-premise applications and the cloud. The Atoms decide the requirement for the integration.

2. What are the benefits of Cloud-Computing for an organization?
Cloud Computing is a process of accessing data of an organization from a remote server on the cloud rather than accessing through the physical server from one place. It saves a lot of money by not establishing a physical server. One more major advantage, one no need to worry about the maintenance of the server and their downtime anymore.

3. How Do I Access Atomsphere?
Since it is a cloud-based or online server, we can directly login to the http://www.boomi.com through a browser.

4. Brief about Atom in Boomi technology
In Boomi Technology, an atom is a runtime engine with all the components that are required for executing an integration process. In this technology, it has a dashboard containing all the features, which monitors the working conditions and status of all the atoms.

5. After the integration process, is it possible to go back to the previous versions? If so, how you can do in Boomi?
Yes, it is possible to go back to the earlier version with version control approach.

6. Where can you host Boomi Atoms?
Boomi Atoms can be hosted on any data center provided it meets the hardware requirements and can run virtually on any server since they are self-contained and do not require any third party software to be installed for it to run. Even on the third-party data center, these would run reliably.

7. Do we need the Internet and/or Atomsphere on to run the Atom?
Yes, since Atom does not have any GUI for itself, it has to be in contact with the data center to run. Atomsphere is a distributed architecture, so there is no chance of one point failure. Deployed Atoms run even during planned maintenance of the platform without any issue.

8. What Is A Connector?
Connectors are the means of sending and receiving data between processes. Connectors act as a communication medium for moving data between different applications or data sources. These applications or data servers could be on-premise applications, web-based applications or data repositories, a commercial database, or even an email server.

9. How Do You Ensure The Data Is Secure During The Integration Process?
Boomi Atomsphere Connectors conduct a security review wherever applicable, which is application specific. Complete data that is passed between Atom onsite and data center is again sent through a secure HTTPs channel with 128-bit encryption.

10. What are some of the benefits of using Atomsphere approach in Boomi?
There are many best things about using Atomsphere approach. Accessing Atomsphere is very easy almost like web-based software; its integration process is very simple. The best part is Boomi support team offers weekly training that makes us understand this technology with ease. Businesses can leverage this for their greater benefit.

11. How safe is the data on Cloud?
Unlike physical servers, there are no chances of data corruption and the effect of viruses, which could affect our system. Therefore, data is safe on a cloud. One of the biggest challenges most of the companies face is to take a backup of their data every time. This could be overcome with the cloud technology. Many companies are going after cloud technologies considering all its advantages and data safety.

12. What are the chances of data loss of a cloud?
There are almost no chances of data loss on a cloud since the data is placed on a third party server. Cloud acts as a back up itself although organizations keep a copy of their own data. Moreover, the cloud data can be accessed from a remote device with an internet connection without any hustle. Knowing the importance of data stored on the cloud, cloud companies take all the measures to seize the chances of data loss.

13. Explain Cloud integration
Cloud integration is a configuration of different application programs to share their data reliably on the cloud. These applications could be from a direct approach or through third-party software.

14. What are the different layers of Cloud Computing
There are three layers in cloud computing
They are:
1. Platform as a Service (Paas)
2. Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas)
3. Software as a service (Saas)

15. What is a process in Boomi?
A process as literally is an interface among two or more systems among which transaction occurs. Let us consider the process of synchronization. This process consists of a series of different shapes that represent the steps for transformation. They sometimes consist of applications while in the process of transforming data from source to destination.

16. Do we need any parallel software or application if the information is integrated into Boomi is very large?
There is no need for any parallel software or application since Boomi Atoms are capable of handling a large volume of data when integration.

17. What is the difference between an API and Boomi?
API is good in case of securing data but does not perform well when it comes to self-integration.  Along with security, the self-integration is also very reliable with Boomi. Moreover, the integration process is simple and performance is better in Boomi when compared to API.

18. Can we integrate Atomsphere with Shopping Carts & E-commerce functionality?
Yes. We can integrate many other applications also.

19. How you will send data in and out of the process in Boomi technology?
Connectors help transfer data between the processes. These establish communications among different endpoints of the process. SAP, digital account books, Web-based applications etc. fall into this process.

20. How often do we need the process of integration?
Integration depends on the volume of the data and our requirement. We can schedule the integration process for a specific period so that we no need to pay attention to it frequently.
